Renovations

Ballpark Renovations

Originally constructed in 1948, the ballpark last received an extensive renovation in 1975, with a more moderate renovation in 1996. In 2014, planning began once again on renovations and enhancements of our historic ballpark in order to ensure it lives on for decades to come. The baseball committee is continually working on ways to maintain the ballpark to serve our community.

The Big Picture: Longevity, Accessibility, and Authenticity

Our Renovation Goals

From the beginning, we set out to accomplish three primary goals in the 2014 planning process:

  • Ensure the longevity of the ballpark by replacing and modernizing aging components, such as the roof, which were in danger of failing, to ensure the longevity and functionality of the ballpark.
  • Make the ballpark more accessible to everyone in our community, to the extent possible, with the Americans with Disabilities Act. This would be accomplished by providing accessible restrooms, an ADA-compliant entrance ramp into the grandstand, and converting a section of grandstand seating to accommodate wheelchairs. We also included adding an independent Family Restroom into the bathroom renovation plans.
  • Accomplish all of these goals while maintaining the iconic look and feel of the vintage ballpark.

Originally a three-phase plan, over the course of a decade the plans evolved as additional needs were recognized. The original three renovation plans (The roof, the concession/ADA Access, and restrooms) were completed by the 2022 season. During this time, additional maintenance, needs, and goals were identified and plans were expanded. In 2025, additional projects included the replacement of our scoreboard that failed, replacement of our field lighting with LED, and reconstruction of our infield surface. In 2026, projects that are planned include the oft-requested grandstand ceiling fans, and upgrades to our maintenance & storage areas. The ballpark committee works each year to develop ideas and improvements that will continue to enhance the ballpark while maintaining the vintage charm.
