The Deltaville Ballpark has been a part of the community for over 78 years. The ballpark serves as a place for neighbors to gather for a game, a unique venue for the county youth ball players to experience playing in a “big time” stadium and as a host for community events like the fireworks display and the “Field of Sweet Dreams” family camp out.
The Deltaville Ballpark had its beginnings with the Deltaville Deltas in the 1950’s and they still remain as the main tenant and home team today. The Deltas, an 18+ wooden bat summer league team playing in the NABA league plays approximately 16-20 home games at the ballpark. Over the past several years, the ballpark has also become the host and home field for several youth leagues:
- Ware Academy – A Pre-K through 8th grade independent school in Gloucester County, they play about 14-16 home games at the ballpark.
- 241 Baseball League – A youth baseball league featuring 15 teams from 10 counties and about 200 players aged 12-18, they play about 45 games at the ballpark.
- Little League Weekend – We created a special event where Middlesex Little league teams compete against other area Little League teams in a 2-day weekend of games.
A few ballpark figures in terms of exposure and reach:
- On average there are over 80 games played at the ballpark each season from late March through September featuring about 50 teams
- On average there are over 7000 spectators and over 700 players coming through the gates at the ballpark each season
- The teams playing at the ballpark represent over 15 counties/cities from Fredericksburg to Tidewater and across central Virginia.
- The local papers in many of the counties regularly have coverage of their teams and the tourism development groups Virginia’s River Realm and Explore Middlesex regularly promote the ballpark, teams, and events.
The Deltaville Ballpark has enjoyed notable growth and success due in large part due to our generous local businesses and individual patrons. The support we receive allows us to continue serving as a vibrant community resource that brings exposure and economic growth to Middlesex County and the region. Being a sponsor of the Deltaville Ballpark is investing in our community and the enrichment of our local youth.
For those interested in being a sponsor at the ballpark, we encourage you to reach out to us for a conversation. We have a variety of marketing offerings at the ballpark which we can craft a tailored program to meet your requirements. Some of the potential offerings are:
- “Billboard” advertising – what we call the “ribbon” board is located on the outside of the grandstand facing the entry gate and parking lot. These are premium spaces with great visibility all year round. We do have specific requirements for these spaces. We also offer signage on the outfield wall which is visible from the grandstand seating and playing field. These are both popular and there is currently a waiting list so add you name to the list to hold a space.
- Tent Spaces – we offer the ability to have an EZ-UP type tent setup behind the entry gate on Deltas game days to promote your business or community organization. You can hand out literature, giveaways and more with pre-approval. We have space to accommodate 2 10’x10′ tents or one larger 10’x20′. Need something more – let’s talk.
- Drawing promotions – for each Delta’s game we do a door prize drawing for a prize to be given to the winning ticket drawn.
- Website / Social Media – we can put together a package to have advertising on our ballpark website and social media account.
