PHASE 3: ADA Restroom Facility – 2022

With the Ballpark’s 75th season taking place in 2022, we were excited to complete the third phase of our renovation goals that were first set in motion in 2014. That third phase was the replacement of the original, antiquated bathroom structure with a modern and accessible bathhouse.

The original bathroom was more than 50 years old and was built long before standards for accessibility were in place. The old structure consisted of two tiny and narrow single stall bathrooms, serviced with only cold water, and a small storage closet on the back side. Having just two stalls did not come close to today’s requirements for a facility that seats 300 spectators, much less for a larger on-field event.

Phase 3 rectified these issues and completed the ADA-centric renovations of Phase 2. The new bathroom features triple the number of toilets in both the men’s and women’s restrooms, with each restroom being ADA-compliant. In addition, a third gender-neutral and ADA-compliant “Family Restroom” was added, complete with a reinforced baby changing table. The design and construction mimics Phase 2’s concession stand architecture, providing continuity to the ballpark’s aesthetic.

The projected required funds and in-kind donations were estimated by our contractors at approximately $80,000. Despite the intense inflation of 2022, we were able to complete the project for approximately $90,000, thanks to a combination of additional funds and the invaluable contributions by local contractors donating their labor and talents.
