softballs left Deltaville Ballpark in droves over the weekend during the first annual Deltaville Ballpark Slowpitch Tournament.
Led by captain Jake Fletcher, the red-clad softballers went undefeated in four games throughout the two-day tournament, capping their run with a 15-10 win over Team Haywood on the championship game.
The seven participating teams were supported by over 30 sponsors and combined to raise over $30,000 for Deltaville Ballpark's latest renovation project, the replacement of the field lighting system. That figure was helped by teams Fletcher & Walden donating back $2,000 in prize money their teams earned for their on-field performance.
A HUGE thank you to the sponsors who made this event - and this fundraiser - an unprecedented success! The tournament would have been possible without dozens of volunteers who made the weekend happen, especially tournament & fundraising organizer Whit Walden!

As part of this spring's "Plein Air Unleashed'' art event held across Middlesex county, artist Joseph Burrough chose to use Deltaville Ballpark as the setting for one of his oil paintings. Titled, "A Night at The Deltaville Ballpark", the painting received so much interest that, with the help of Allure Art Center, a limited run of 200 fine art giclee prints have been created. The 17"x9.5" artist-signed prints are available for $55, with all proceeds going directly towards ballpark renovations.
